Passenger Cinema Travelling through film

About

We go wherever the film belongs.

Passenger Cinema was founded in London in 2024 on a simple idea: cinema can help us travel, not only to different places but towards one another.

Every screening is an invitation to discover a new country, meet new people and experience a culture through film.

Our programme reflects the diversity of the city we call home. Every event brings together people of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds around a shared experience, proving that cinema can create common ground even when we don’t share the same language or story.

We have travelled through cinema to Turkey, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, Italy, Hong Kong, Spain and Iran, celebrating stories that are rarely given the spotlight in mainstream cinemas. We believe audiences are curious and adventurous, and our programming reflects that. We have been proud to welcome people from the cultures represented on screen alongside those discovering them for the first time, creating conversations that continue long after the credits roll.

Building bridges

Cinema as something you do together, across borders.

Solidarity

Jamaica

During our 16mm screening of The Harder They Come at Ciné-Real in Hackney, we donated half of all ticket proceeds to support Jamaican hurricane relief, giving audiences a way to respond with solidarity as well as curiosity.
