Where should we go next?

Some of our best events have started with someone telling us about a film we’d never heard of, or offering a room nobody had thought of using as a cinema. Both are below.

01 / Recommend a film

It doesn’t need to be obscure and it doesn’t need to be worthy. It needs to be worth building an event around. Tell us why it matters to you.

If it’s a film from a culture you belong to, say so, because we would love to make it with you rather than about you.

Tell us what it did to you. What you remember, who you watched it with, why it stayed. There is no wrong answer here and a few sentences is plenty.

A workshop, a meal, live music, a dance class, a guest speaker, a conversation. Half of a Passenger Cinema event happens after the credits.

We read every suggestion. We can’t programme all of them, but plenty of our screenings started exactly here.

02 / Offer a space

We have screened in a basement music venue, a members’ bar, a 1920s picture palace, a 16mm film club, a film school, a bookshop cinema and a craft café on its opening weekend.

You don’t need a projector, a screen or blackout blinds. We have brought all three before, along with a bedsheet and a lot of volunteers.

Atmosphere matters more than equipment. Tell us what it feels like to be in there.

Partnering with a space usually means we bring the film, the audience and the crew, and the venue keeps the bar. We’re happy to talk it through.
